September 12, 2007 – HANDHELD IFE provider digEcor is supplying its digEplayer XT device to two new customers – Indonesia’s Garuda International and Vision Airlines, the Las Vegas-based regional carrier.
Formerly known as Vision Air and specialising in air tours over the Grand Canyon, Marble Canyon, Hoover Dam and Monument Valley, Vision Airlines is now developing regular services from its hub at North Las Vegas Airport to Mesa, Arizona's Williams Gateway Airport and Carlsbad, California's McClellan-Palomar Airport. It also plans to serve other destinations in Arizona, Nevada, California and Utah.
Its Dornier 328 turboprops are each fitted with 30 seats comparable in quality with those found in short/medium-haul jets. Other cabin amenities include hot towels, snacks and drinks. The latest addition to the product is digEplayer XT, delivering films, television shows, cartoons, music and games to an 8in TFT-LCD screen.
Despite recent vigorous competition from IMS and e.Digital, Utah-based digEcor continues to describe itself as the leading provider of handheld IFE, with the largest customer base and the biggest tally of devices in service.
