Enactment of the bills "is essential to future innovation and prosperity in America," Robert Holleyman, president of the Business Software Alliance, said in a statement Friday. BSA's members include Adobe Systems, Apple, Dell, Intel, Microsoft and IBM.

The list of companies that want change are only noted to be the high tech, however, it effects all disciplines of industry.

Wonder what it is, that all of a sudden the patent laws need an overhaul with regard to high tech? Why now?

Never seemed to be much of a problem until now.
