SAN DIEGO, Calif. (AP) - American Technology Corp., which licenses sound technologies to commercial and military customers, said Wednesday that it received contracts from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army to provide LRAD 500 acoustic hailing and warning devices for small vessels and vehicles.

Financial terms were undisclosed.

The LRAD 500 system is currently used by a range of government, military and commercial security agencies.

American Technology shares rose 36 cents, or 11 percent, to $3.60 during morning trading. The stock has traded between $1.90 and $5.26 during the past 52 weeks.
