Sony has a large trade sales and marketing campaign going on right now. Trying to guess the next winning CE category is a tough one depending on which rung of the priority product ladder you sit. (Guitar sales in the CE channel were up 140%, but still a nat in the total biz mix) Multi funtion cell phones are not new, but the DMP side to replace a stand alone DMP is new....If you can`t beat `em, make a better mouse trap anyway.

I wonder if a phone play Layla as well as Eric Clapton? ask Verison. They will be playing the CE game from the other side. Apple is just starting to see the competition and they will hold their own as long as they can inovate in a very high growth market with very high stakes for the brands.

The folks at Sony did not like gettin` the crap kicked out of their portable market share by a fruit. Sometimes if you shake that bear long enough, he will wake up and bite your arse.
