Does anyone know the details on why Apple agreed to pay Creative $100 million to settle a string of lawsuits between the two firms?

The settlement gave Apple a licence to use a Creative patent in its music player and other products

I am sure this has already been spoke about on this board but I don't have time to read all the posts.
