Yep, the revs were already announced and in the pps. This is the validation announcment. It may move some of the "Show me the Money" retail investor, but I doubt much more than that until we see Q reports with black ink. This ain't Y2K, we are not in Kansas, and Wall Street likes profit these days.
The impact of having a top tier airline in the EDIG family can be very helpful with other airlines. While US airlines have really had a tough five to ten years, some of the EU airlines have done well. The longer haul routes will continue to grow as more and more companies become truly "global."
Lufthansa has long been regarded as a high quality carrier with good service -- I wish US airlines could grasp the notion that business travelers will pay for good service on long flights but it should not cost a lot. IMO, this is a very good indicator of EDIG and Willy's potential.
Also, I believe Lufthansa has / had the record for years without a plane hitting the ground. A comfort to some of the white knuckeled travelers. As many things German, they over engineer and maintain. However, if you fly with them, that's just fine.
