"They would have to refer the cases to other attorneys. Or e.Digital would have to find other firms to represent them against those clients of DM. "
I don't think there will be a direct link for the types of IP involved on a possible DM former/ongoing client relationship. However, if there is some form of relationship no matter what it might be and they farm out their e.Digital obligations, or e.Digital has to engage other representation.....
Could we end up chasing our own tail ?
I see DM not only as a law firm, but a very large 100 year old, house of politics....with this being more of their lively hood. If you note their language...they pretty much spell it out.
"In today's legal environment, however, only a small percentage of cases go to trial. Thus, it is crucial that you have counsel who is focused on your business objectives and the most cost-effective means of achieving those objectives. If a creative business resolution is in order, we will litigate the case in a manner that will drive the case toward such a resolution. We also have extensive experience in the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. From the outset of each case, we explore with our clients the potential risks, opportunities and costs associated with various strategies for dispute resolution, including litigation, mediation, arbitration, and negotiated settlements."
Minister is that what you are getting at?
Politics..If e.Digital has hired them in order to get a faster end...they had better be very careful...and stay on the best of terms with DM...IMO...they could really stick it to yeah.
