I get your point but I don't see how an airline can provide a consistent "product" to its passengers if everyone is experiencing a different "entertainment" moment. Those with their own devices will always have that option, but for many others the eVU will offer something new and different.
They don't tell passengers to bring their own food on flights, yet that option exists too.
Just look how Jet Blue differentiated themselves and defined their "product" by their free IFE offering. They branded themselves as having flying TVs.
The lastest IFE growth projections are in the 400% range, so, time will tell.
It is clear many airlines are going with portable IFE from a number of different suppliers....now will EDIG get its share of that growth market?
