Germania chooses ABACUS from Fokker Services

Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands, December 6, 2006

"A firm basis for the future!" With these words, Andreas Wobig, Technical Director of wet lease specialist Germania, signed the ABACUS service contract with Fokker Services on the first of November 2006. He did this together with Stephen Hands, Vice-President of Marketing & Sales for Fokker Services at the Germania headquarters in Berlin.

With this, the extension of this contract until the end of 2012 became a fact.

With 19 aircraft, Germania is one of the largest Fokker 100 owners and provides wet leases to Air Berlin, Hapag Lloyd and DBA. Germania has been an important customer for Fokker Services since 2003. Partly facilitated by the FUTURE100® programme of Fokker Services and Rolls Royce, Germania has taken over a number of Fokker 100 aircraft from US Airways, which ran into financial difficulties following the events of 11 September.

With this ABACUS service contract, Germania is assured of guaranteed repair prices and throughput times of more than 700 critical system components, based on the number of flying hours of a Fokker aircraft.
The extension of this contract demonstrates the wet lease specialist's satisfaction with the service level of the Fokker Services logistics support.

Stephen Hands added that Germania's decision underlines the strong market position of Fokker Services and that everything possible will be done to build on this position: "We will show that Germania has made the right choice."

Stork Aerospace develops and produces advanced components and systems for the aerospace industry, and supplies integrated maintenance services and products to aircraft owners and operators. In 2005 the group achieved a turnover of € 551 million with 3,384 employees out of the total Stork turnover of € 1.82 billion.
