been overlooked...so GE (a la GE Finance) and Rolls Royce are partnered as well. This looks extremely promising and I have to wonder if RRs backing of Mezzo might not have had this kind of result in mind. Here's hoping for the best....
He’s pitched the idea to the two main providers of in-flight entertainment systems (the TV boxes you’ll find in most seats’ footwells): Panasonic Avionics and Thales Avionics, though has struck no deals... yet. (Neither company responded to interview requests.) Castaneda has also pitched the idea to aircraft engine makers Pratt & Whitney and GE Rolls Royce as a way to get real-time in-flight diagnostics, though he admits that the costs of such connections are too expensive for just that purpose. But he’s hoping that having several services ride over the satellite links would make the concept economically feasible.
