EPAC is 30-50% faster to download than mp3 and uses 30-50% less storage space. Unlike
mp3, EPAC can be downloaded with a selected song rather than in a separate technical step.
The " 30-50% faster download " would relate directly to the compression of the codec....
"30-50% less storage space" e.digital would not necessarily have to be involved at this level. They could create a proprietary contiguous file with a complementing hardware decoder for play back of the file. This format would be proprietary and specific. Implementing the platform would have to be specifically devised to play and manage the specific attributes and will only play through that hardware arrangement.
This is where e.Digital comes in. Their OS system can be devised to manage the attributes of EPAC or any codec without implementing a specific hardware set....for contiguous or non contiguous data structures.
As for..."selected song" it has nothing to do directly with the codec....that would be attributed to a file systems ability.
