Anaheim, CA, February 16 — Alan Pellegrini, CEO of portable and wireless leader IMS, will leave the company on February 23 to accept a position at Thales, running their IFE business, according to IMS Chairman Joseph Renton, who will reassume the responsibilities of CEO along with those of chairman.

The announcement comes as IMS rolls out two new handheld players, and is enjoying a record first quarter in 2007, with anticipated delivery of more than 4,000 units of the new products to five airline customers. IMS has tripled in size during Pellegrini’s two-and-a-half year tenure, comments Renton.

“IMS has attained a leadership position in portable and wireless IFE,” said Renton. “During Alan’s tenure, IMS has continued to strengthen its systems and software engineering initiatives with emphasis on the e-enabled aircraft.”

“I have truly enjoyed my time with IMS,” observed Pellegrini. “I believe that we have built a solid market position, with premier customers, and quality products and services. I leave knowing that IMS has a strong backlog of business, excellent prospects, and the leadership and staff to effectively carry on the mission.”

Renton stated: “When Alan joined IMS, our objective was to launch new and creative products, and position IMS as a substantial player in our markets. I believe we have accomplished these goals, and that we have built a solid foundation for continued growth. We greatly appreciate Alan’s contribution, and know that we will continue to collaborate at some level. I wish him the best in this new and challenging role.”
