They are selling to one institutional investor in which EDIG dictates timing and price points at which they want to enter, up to $8.5 million at a time when they are LAUNCHING a new product line into multiple industries.
Access to capital to grow the company is a good and necessary thing, anyway you slice it. ALL public companies utilize their public status to raise capital for similar reasons.
If this was merely to pay the electric bill it would be a different case scenario, but Blakeley, whose credibility continues to grow, has set a target for profitability and not taking on debt but creating a capital stream to grow EDIG will negate any miniscule dilution that this latest news represents. Any dilution comes at the hands of eVU sales, which will add value to EDIG without adding debt, that drains the company year after year.
Institutional investors exist not for their health and deserve a return or incentive. Their website indicates they take risks to appreciate with the companies in which they invest. It is unlike previous financing and should make other shorters think twice, as they have the resources to drive the pps higher.
