Nov 23, 2006: Jet2.com extend Mezzo entertainment rental service

Budget carrier Jet2.com is extending the Mezzo entertainment rental service to all its mid-haul flights this winter following a successful trial earlier this year.

The Mezzo Players will be available to rent from £5, including complimentary headphones to keep, and will feature the latest comedy, kids' TV, music videos, sport, drama and other programmes to keep passengers entertained during flights. Passengers can also buy additional headsets so two people can watch together.

Programming for adults includes hit shows like Little Britain, Planet Earth, Dr Who, You Are What You Eat and Top Gear. For the kids, there are favourites such as Postman Pat, Basil Brush and Transformers.  As well as over 50 music videos, there is a huge selection of music CD albums covering all tastes.

"Select from over 50 programmes and 100 CDs in the easy-to-navigate menu and you control what you watch and when – you can pause, fast-forward or rewind, just in case you missed a bit," a Mezzo spokesman said.

Mezzo provide Jet2.com with a fully managed IFE service, which includes the provision and management of hardware, media content and daily onboard operations. As a team with extensive retail experience, Mezzo focus intensely on getting it right for customers.

Jet2.com, which was established in 2002, is based at Leeds Bradford Airport and has additional bases at Manchester, Belfast, Blackpool, Edinburgh and Newcastle. It flies to 38 popular holiday destinations across Europe including Ibiza, Malaga and Amsterdam.
