Ionix Awarded Phase I SBIR Contract with US Navy, Joint Strike Fighter Program: Contract to develop State-ofHealth and Charge Monitoring Systems for Ni-Cd batteries.

San Diego, CA, December 6, 2004 -- Ionix Power Systems, LLC was awarded a Phase I SBIR contract with the US Navy. The program will develop the necessary monitoring techniques and modeling tools needed to assess the state-of-charge and health of nickel cadmium batteries used on board the Joint Strike Fighter. The developed system will be designed and implemented into an advanced prognostic and health maintenance system that will actively determine when service of critical components will be needed.
