The basic problem is that many companies still engineer, and produce products they think the market will want. What happens then is that sales are either very low of they find out that is not what the market wants.

Successful marketing of any product is based on appropriate market research as to the needs of the market, then desinging and providing that product to the marketplace.

The days of creative engineers have been gone along time. Engineers are now the tools that the market dictates as to product needs and features.

There are exceptions such as the fashion industry who attempts to set the design criteria, but often times it doesn`t work either.

I wonder where one would slot edig in this arena?
