As the industry at large was working from the top down...all trying to capitalize on MSFT....
Daberko worked from the bottom up...
IMO...They were not trying to create the next big translation layer in order to implement MSFT.
There system started as a stand alone with its own OS for their own purposes. However, this system has an ability to translate from the bottom up to MSFT and others more easily....than from the top down.
IMO...a serendipitous happening that they exemplify in 5787445...and is more than likely the main reason for that expanded patent... to allow for a translation scheme to many OS types....while utilizing a mininium of hardware....if not the same hardware for all.
