``Norris Communications Corporation patented a flash file system based on linked lists [Daberko 1998], much like the Microsoft Flash File System. The patent is due to Daberko, who apparently designed and implemented the file system for use in a handheld audio recorder.``

``The main defect in this scheme is that repeated updates to a file lead to longer and longer linked lists that must be transversed to access the data.``

=======================================================

I`ve not had the time to read through the material of the PDF link....if these statements are made on that link...I will for sure read through it....because they are very much incorrect in identifying what Daberko teaches.

First off...link lists are the main stay of creating hierarchy systems...if you want something of any significance...manage in many different manners...including FAT.

FFS belonging to Msystems(used by MSFT)...manages link lists.

I will take the time to read through it...only because of where it`s authored.
