Midwest Airlines boosts Florida flights

Midwesterners flat out love Florida. To that end, Midwest Airlines is touting nonstop service from its Milwaukee (MKE) hub to a couple of Sunshine State destinations this fall.

First flight out of the gate is MKE-Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL). It starts on October 1. Milwaukee-Fort Myers (RSW) is next. It gets off the ground on October 14, and operates through April 30, 2007. Both these flights are daily, but to meet peak travel demand Midwest is laying on double-daily service on the routes from November 16 through April 30 as well as doubling up on MKE-Tampa (TPA) during that period.

Flights from Milwaukee to Florida are via Midwest Airlines’ Saver Service. Low-fares are the rule here, as is 2X3 seating and buy-on-board food. Want something to amuse you aloft aside from staring out the window, or burying yourself in a book? Saver Service offers DigEplayer portable inflight entertainment gear – for a fee.

Between them, Midwest Airlines and its wholly-owned Skyway Airlines subsidiary offer service to 47 cities. Skyway operates under the Midwest Connect banner.
