I like the concept of Mezzo Movies apparently concentrating on using Handheld IFE not just to appease or attract passengers, but as a profit center in and of itself thus adding real monetary value for the airlines. That at least was my impression from the PR. It`s just this sort of concept that e.Digital should be pursuing. Show companies how they can make real money with a customized eVU and it becomes an easy sell.

Tremendous news today. Mezzo really sounds like they know what they`re doing and e.Digital has always needed a good partner to market its products. It speaks well of the eVU that Mezzo has evidently selected it as their preferred solution over all the other players out there (including the digEplayer). While I`m sure they remain ``hardware agnostic``, so long as e.Digital can deliver quality products on time at a competitive price, Mezzo should have no reason to go elsewhere. Such is the nature of all business relationships. Something could still go wrong but this is an excellent start. I`ve no doubt but that orders are forthcoming.

The first should be announced yet this month as was stated in the 05/30/06 PR. I`m not necessarily expecting a large order, but it will nonetheless validate the business plan and the partnership. After months and years of waiting, we`re finally experiencing the ``waves of news`` we have all been thirsting for. Welcome to mid-2006: the Summer of EDIG.
