That is correct...MOS set up to function as a contiguous or noncontiguous system...does not have to move existing data to RAM / up date the file in RAM / erase the block / and reload the data back to the block....or move data from block to block for file updates.

MOS functions completely independent of the erase blocks.

It does not erase @ the cell level...the erase function is devised into the flash...with varying block sizes...an erase block for NAND might be 4K byte...where an erase block for NOR might be 64k.

``Somebody familiar with the MOS internals would know exactly what to look for.``
