``1. The new encryption technology in the DRM agreement is to be used for digEcor`s future products (XT, digEsystem, etc.) not for the current 5500. Apparently digEcor does not want to continue with the DivX code and encryption used in the 5500 in new products. The agreement gives a time schedule for delivery of the technology.``
That was most apparent...they`re moving to .AVI file format...and want a specialized post production encryption layer for it. There is no mention of what is happening for the other layers with regard to digEcor IP....or would that be worthless now?
Who will be supplying the specialized bit stream and matching processor...if they are following their IP recipe....irregardless of the file encoding type used?

apparently e.Digital has developed a top to bottom package for it self covering all the layers.
