``Wencor/DigEcor may be contesting the rights to the IP for DigEplayer`` or the eVu....
As I have stated in the past...we all know WENCOR inherited an IP issue for a recipe describing an IFE device.
That recipe included numerous security requirements and device features.
The requirements are not technical in nature and can be implemented technically in any manner...as long as the end result comply.
Can e.Digital...even though technically driving the device...put out a device with a similar recipe of features...as described by WENCOR?
Such as a requirement of an encrypted hard drive...they do not describe how to technically implement HDD encryption...just that it`s necessary to be implemented. Or authorized timed access privileges to the drive...purely e.Digital technically...however a conforming feature of the recipe.
No problem with an on board CC reader...that was never described by Boyer or Henson....Other requirements such as
standard protocols USB2 or IEE1394 are no problem.
For Wencor...IMO..a 3 1/2 page document of claims and description ain`t gona cut it.
They have no technical IP @ all.
