Personally, I don`t think it makes too much sense. Why have a TV taking up space when the eVU provides the entertainment? These vast majority of these rooms are typically very small (a la hospital rooms). Ignoring the space savings removes one big attribute of having the device. Would these TVs also have connection to DirectTV or other satellite-based broadcasts? (groping for a need). I can see the desire for haing a docking station (allowing recharging), but would that be necessary? They could just trade the units in (meaning far more eVU sales to the cruise line; advantageous to us, bad for the cruise line). The docking station would actually ADD a space requirement to the already tight room.
As far as mobility, that is an attribute, especially if the eVU had maps of each level of the ship to aid in passenger navigation. But as Tom has pointed out, there are plenty of things to do while on board. I would think that the eVU would be more for use in ``down time``, in your room, which takes me right back to the space savings - which wouldn`t exist if they keep the TVs in there for use as a monitor (in a room so small that a large screen is kinda pointless).
But I KNOW nuttin`!
