E.Digital`s ability is to integrate the IP of others down to micro controller processor schemes.
This IP for the most part would be the end item of the system.
To get this integration of IP to function would require dedicated intermediate firmware sets devised to translate the processor platform the IP was originally devised for down to the micro controller platform that e.Digital has expertise in.
This intermediate process is what e.Digital will be studying.
The short cuts they have devised at that level will either be apparently similar or not.
The lack of hardware at that level will signal to e.Digital to further investigate the integration process.
They will not look at the memory process unless something leads them back to it....a lack of hardware will lead them back to the reason of why there is a lack.
DSP/stand alone..DSP/soc...ASIP/stand alone... ASIP/soc....FPGA/stand alone...FPGA/soc
utilizing flash as main memory....eliminate to a degree the intermedite hardware/software(firmware)sets.
Samsung @ this time are the only ones signaling their use of flash as a main memory.
