Message: Re: Compare Virgin Metals and Creston Moly
I'll check out Virgin in a bit more detail tomorrow but I would say on a quick overview that Creston is at least a year ahead of Virgin in developing a mine. Although Virgin does not appear to offer any grade and tonnage figures on their web site their drill data suggests that they have a higher grade than Creston but over narrower widths (ie lower tonnage). Virgin may therefore have a higher cost to mine. Large low grade deposits are often economic to mine mainly because of their high tonnage (despite low grades) due to the advantages of scale, and spreading overhead and other costs over a larger amount of ore. Creston and other large deposits are in the 100-300 million tonne range. Until Virgin announces their tonnage it will be a little difficult in us determining whether they have enough ore to justify mining.
