Not bothering me exactly, just noticed this line, "Nevertheless single activity of BET inhibitors appears to be modest and resistance mechanisms were already identified", which, as you correctly replied, was probably not surprising.
I am a tiny investor. Mainly I just want to see cures for these diseases that cause so much suffering, and preferably treatments that cause less suffering and side effects than those we have now. Even when I know better, I can't help but get my hopes up.
This is probably true of almost anyone (or at least almost anyone who is less than a doctoral scientist) who has spent time with someone dying of cancer, been in those wards where every single room contains unimaginable sadness and suffering, people deserted by those they love just when they need love most. Hospitals making well-meant (or negligent) error after error, despite vigilance on the part of family, or sometimes due to its absence, or even on purpose.... I cannot deny some financial motive, but mainly, all I want is for people (and animals) to be healed. I am sure I am not the only one. And that makes me stupid sometimes in terms of what I hope for, even in the face of low likelihood. Ugh, that sounds so maudlin. Sorry. But you did ask.
