Dr. Francis Dube's Zen Graphene Solutions Ltd. (ZEN), up six cents to 50 cents on 84,000 shares, says that it has "launched Albany Pure graphene products on its website." Dr. Dube, CEO, means that Zen Graphene is offering graphene quantum dots, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and other graphene-based products for sale, with a goal to "start bringing in revenue from the production and sale" of the Albany products.

Unfortunately, prospective customers will have to hunt down the ordering section on Zen's website -- not an easy task. Further, once found, customers can buy graphene oxide for $99 (U.S.) per gram, but the other offerings -- graphene quantum dots and reduced graphene oxide -- are unavailable but are purportedly "coming soon." Dr. Dube says that Zen is ramping up its new facility in Guelph and is working toward larger-scale graphene production of the new "wonder material that is just beginning to be used in many large-scale industrial applications."

While Zen is ramping up its graphene production, there has been little activity back at Albany, the company's graphite deposit in Northern Ontario from which the graphene is being produced. The project hosts a resource of 24.3 million tonnes indicated at 3.98 per cent graphite and 16.9 million tonnes inferred at 2.64 per cent, and the project received a preliminary economic assessment in 2015 based on a plan to produce specialty graphite from a $408-million mine. Dr. Dube now says that an updated dream sheet will be based on higher pricing for graphene and a simplified processing plan.
