Hydrothermal Graphite Deposit Ammenable for Commercial Graphene Applications
Thanks Tranquille for your questions, happy to answer!
This was a paid subscription so unfortunately, I cannot supply a working link.
As to what I liked about it besides the fact this is research being done in Canada by a world leader in the space is the following:
In the first paragraph, they compared IC-RGO produced from our graphene to T-RGO and we were more than double the capacitance which is a measure of charge. It was also higher than other comparable structures in the literature ie, IC-RGO produce from our graphite yielded the highest capacitance of similar product ever reported. That is a coup and again, shows how good our end product is.
They also ran through 5000 cycles at the higher 10A setting and found no decrease in capacitance. This is a big feature, it is like charging your phone 5000 times, equivalent of 13.7 years of use where you charge your phone every day and not lose any power. Quite the accomplishment!
In the second paragraph, I really liked this statement:
this process is facile, economical and easy to scale up for the mass production of 3D graphene superstructures. The produced IC-RGO represents a new type of 3D platform, which is promising for many graphene related applications such as sensors, catalysts, supercapacitors, batteries, adsorbents, and filters.
They are telling us that this is easy to do, relatively cheap and can be scaled up for mass production. Those are all key to establishing a disruptive technology. Imagine if they really can establish our graphene as the best graphene or graphene oxide to make a new breed of batteries that blow all other batteries out of the water. What would LG or Panasonic pay to access this product?
Lots of great work getting done with our graphene...only a question of time before someone says I must have this!!
