It seems like every week someone announces a faster, simpler, cheaper way to make graphene. It has always been apparent, to everyone but musky, that is, that the price for graphene would have to come down substantially to fulfill large scale needs. To say that in the future people will pay what it costs now does not make sense.

Now along with cheaper prices for graphene, methods are being advanced to eliminate the need for graphite as a precursor. It would seem that the future of graphene, while wondrous, is so up in the air that the end game may be nothing resembling today's landscape.
