Hydrothermal Graphite Deposit Ammenable for Commercial Graphene Applications

This is from Clear on another board...Clear, you should be posting that good stuff here!

OK.. Just checking around the internet a little.

If concrete costs 200 dollars a ton, and ZEN's nano graphite sells for 60,000 dollars a ton, then at 0.0005 (.05%), it only adds $30 dollars to the cost of a ton of the concrete (not that they will sell it for $230). That means that the strengthened concrete will easily find the sweet spot for optimum sales. And the more strengthened concrete they sell, the more of our graphite they'll need.

If the above is true it means that we'll have no trouble selling everything we can produce a year. And if we fall short of supply, we'll be forced to raise our prices to keep up with demand.

And now let this sink in for a moment..

From the Portland Cement Association:

"A report released by the Portland Cement Association (PCA) indicates that cement consumption among developed economies increased by roughly 9.2 million metric tons in 2014, followed by another 9 million ton increase in 2015. “Most of the gains in developed world cement consumption is attributed to North America,” said Edward J. Sullivan, chief economist and group vice-president at PCA. “With an expected growth of more than 7.4 million metric tons, the North American region is expected to continue to expand at a faster pace than most other developed countries due to continued national economic growth.”

PCA projects global cement consumption to record sustained growth during 2015-2018, but at a less robust pace than previously expected. World cement consumption is expected to grow 2.2 percent in 2015, 3.7 percent in 2016, and remain near 4 percent growth during 2017-2018. World cement consumption grew an estimated 4.6 percent in 2014 from 4.0 billion metric tons in 2013 to 4.3 billion metric tons."

We don't need to have much of a niche to sell all the graphite we can produce, and then some. If the cost is low enough, who's to say that the strengthened concrete won't become standard, much like high grade stainless steel did a few years ago?

If my numbers are correct, we only add about 1 pound of nano graphite per ton of concrete. Sounds small until you look at the numbers above. How much of that market will we tap into?

End of post by Clear.

Further thoughts from me:

Assuming demand now at 4.5 billion metric tons and that we capture 2% of this market and that .05% concentration is what we need to obtain maximum performance from that cement, this would consume 45k tons per year!!

Maybe there is a reason we don't have a deal with Tesla that has nothing to do with Tesla. If AE started to get these reports about graphene in concrete last Fall like the NR indicated, then he would put Tesla and everyone else on hold. Who could compete with Larisplast that could pay $60k per ton!

All of a sudden, Muskie does not sound so crazy!!

CHOO CHOO!
