one near the large end of the spectrum

and

one near the small end of the spectrum.

the middle? not so much

i saw an expert on graphite talk about the two 'sweet spots'. he named the size range of each sweet spot too, but i've forgotten what they were. i thought some techie would have saved them, but i guess not.
