Thanks Q, I could not find any other alternative close to Albany in my limited search as well. In my head I just keep coming back to Tesla's (and all battery guys for that matter) need to reduce the battery cost in order to mass market. Simply replacing foreign supply with NA supply does not reduce the cost, or not substantially, and it does not help the 'green' scene (if flake is used it just moves the environmnetal issues closer to home).

They will have to OWN the supply in some manner to reduce the cost. Off takes merely secure the supply they don't reduce the cost.
