SGS is notorious with backlog. Hence, companies will have to line up for their turn to be able to have their pilot plant set up. Tweaking may require additional (custom?) equipment.

One way to resolve the backlog problem is to expand the pilot testing facility, e.g. by installing extra unit for pilot scale testing...and this would require "additional equipment", and qualified people to run it.

Queue jumping/rush service may be possible if the company is prepared to pay a premium price.
