Hydrothermal Graphite Deposit Ammenable for Commercial Graphene Applications
Zen has offered their response to the piece by Street Sweeper Ms. Melissa Davis. In part it says:
THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 10, 2013) - Zenyatta Ventures Ltd. ("Zenyatta" or "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ZEN)(OTCQX:ZENYF) has become aware of recent misleading and inaccurate commentary in the marketplace regarding the Company's 100% owned Albany Graphite Deposit which has negatively affected the share price. Although the Company would prefer to stay focused on continued development of our exciting graphite project, we feel a need, from time to time, to set the record straight from malicious attacks.
Aubrey Eveleigh, President and CEO stated, "Zenyatta intends to vigorously defend itself against negligent misrepresentation. Any unfounded and misleading information about our Company will be pursued legally to protect the interests of our shareholders and reputation of Zenyatta."
My comments are as follows:
- Timely response to a malicious attack.
- Most of the NR deals with setting the records straight. The tone is quite level-headed, unlike the wordings used in the Street Sweeper hatchet piece...there are many examples in Ms. Davis 7-page which were intended mainly for sensationalism (the give- away sign is the title itself "ZEN: Selling a story with more holes than its celebrated mine".
- The most relevant part is underlined above, taking legal action against this kind of attack. Apparently, some posters have identified similar attacks by this group on other companies for the benefit of shorting activities (disclosed, or not. IMO, disclosure does not give them the protection to short then follow up with a negative review of the company based on un-supported rumours and inuendos). In my opinion, this kind of activities should not be left unchallenged.
The attack, which is based on "quotes", inuendos, was aimed at ZEN to portray that it's a company run by un-trustworthy management, including the CEO. It's a blatant character assasination, and Mr. Eveleigh should initiate a defamation suit against Street Sweeper and the author of the piece, and those who have links with potential gain from the shorting activities.
The attribution of the Bre-X disaster to Mr. Barry Allan is clearly unfair and would form also a good basis for a similar (defamation) suit from Mr. Allan.
Also, the OSC should be contacted to request an investigation to see if this attack/bashing has resulted in any profit in their shorting activities. If they did/do profit from this their activities/practices would be illegal and they should be ordered to compensate the victimized company and its shareholders.
