I've been through monster rides ... and they all involved numerous pullbacks. Solution is simple:

1. Keep upgrading your DD to make sure your thesis is correct

2. Sell small pieces along the way. This helps you remain unemotional because you've given yourself small rewards, as opposed to worrying about the entire position in zero-sum game mode (which 99.9% of people can't handle).
