MINERA FLORIDA, Chile, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Canada's Yamana Gold (YRI.TO) said on Thursday it expected to produce 120,000 ounces of gold from its Minera Florida mine in central Chile in 2009.
"It will be up to 120,000 ounces this year," Ricardo Palma Contesse, vice president and country manager for Yamana Gold in Chile, told Reuters during a trip to the mine. "Last year it was about 65,000 ounces of gold equivlent."
He also forecast the mine would produce 400,000 ounces of silver and 6,000 tonnes of zinc in 2009. (Reporting by Pav Jordan; Editing by Walter Bagley)
