You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
Apparently, because of your rank, you are only allowed to use certain features with AG. As you move up the ladder, more features are available to you.
If I'm not mistaken, at the level of treasurer you may begin to post e-mails, then at v. pres and pres. you have more available.
