Discussions on the implementation of the EPSA Agreement between NOC and Verenex- Medco Dr Shokri Ghanem, NOC Chairman, in the presence of Dr. Omar Abdul-Kareem, NOC Management Committee Member for Exploration and Production, Mr. Azzam Mesallati, Member of the NOC Management Committee for Investment and Joint Venture Follow-up, met on 02.10.2007 with Mr. James McFarland, President & CEO of Verenex Energy Inc. and Mr. Patrick Molliere, Member of the Owners’ Management Committee and Managing Director of MEDCO, which is a partner with Verenex in the Area 47-Libya, Mr. Dorgham Abubaker, Head of Verenex Energy 47-Libya and Member of the Owners’ Committee and Mr Fadi Namour, Member of the Owners’ Management Committee. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the implementation of the EPSA Agreement and to the exchange of views between both sides, stressing the need to provide opportunities for Libyans to be trained and work within these companies. Conducting technical studies locally, to activate the role of national research centres, was also discussed.
