I was in contact with CEO John Knowles today. He had not seen the full article in the Free Press but had seen a portion online, he said. However, what he saw was a repeat of information that had come out in the Free Press many months earlier and it was out-of-date.
The article online actutally was reporting what John's pay was for 2008. Since then, of course, he took a 50% pay cut along with the rest of the Wildcat staff. [This cut, by the way, was not to be caught up later, as some have suggested - it was a complete reduction of pay.] So, the 2009 financial statements will show the reduced expenses to the company. Since then, as of November 1st, Wildcat staff have returned to full pay, expect for John Knowles - he has voluntarily offered to accept 75% of the salary he is entitled to under his contract.
I think this shows the good faith by which John is operating - leading by example, and I do believe it is essential that we have qualified administration/management/leadership people in key positions, or this company will not be going anywhere. Learning what I did today adds to my respect for the management of Wildcat.
I also learned a few other things, but am rushing out the door to a meeting, so will post further later tonight.
