Siderock Property (taken from WEL website)
- Red Lake equivalent stratigraphy - only recently recognized.
- Regional & local geological structures favourable for gold mineralization.
- Alteration similar to Red Lake deposits (ankerite – sericite - chlorite).
- Under-explored, < 300m total diamond drilling (for gold).
- Gold mineralization associated with:
* 0.15 - 0.8 oz/ton Au in stockwork veins in QFP along regional gold structure (TARGET 1).
* Fold nose area has similar geology to Portage Gold Zone (TARGET 2).
* Highly prospective massive ankerite-bearing sericite schist (shear zone) (TARGET 3).
* Shear zone w anomalous gold, arsenic, fuchsite-sericite alteration and QV (TARGET 4).
* Visible gold in iron formation / chert (> 8 km of I.F. to be evaluated) (TARGET 5).
New Discovery 2004 – Portage Gold Zone.
* 1.8km strike length and minimum 250m width.
* Broad zone of anomalous gold values - open along strike.
* ”Fold Nose” area ( Target 2) may be extension of Portage Gold zone.
