i would take the "wait and see" approach to the six week time frame....at least that is what i am doing. 6 weeks( 5 more) would be awesome but who knows.

have a great time in Costa Rica ( one of the most amazing nights in my life was at mount arenal, fully erupting, lava flying, making huge granite splitting noises when hitting the rocks, all the meanwhile, it was a full moon in one direction and thunder/lighting storm in the other...crazy.

can't go wrong with the imperial cervezas, nice beaches of Manuel Antonio,et al, of course surf breaks too.

try and find newsletter writer Jim Willie( who lives there) and have a beer with him....that guy is bold and usually right on....
