This may seem a really a silly question - but did you log in (with name and password) at top left of screen?  I find sometimes that as I access from different computers - that while it allows me to be there, I can't post until I physically do the log-in.  It remembers at home and at work - but not at a machine outside of that loop...and you logging on from a cafe would be similar.
