I have reading about the connector for optical fiber and I can't find any connector that is qualified for more than +85 C except some Valdor connector. So my guess is that we must se some sales contract for the mining and oil industry in near future what I can se but I am no expert in the fiber industry. I have reading a article from 2009 about fiber optics in Intels testing fiber in computer instead of the USB devices.
They talk about the high cost of the fiber compared to USB but the copper price is going higher so soon fiber is not that expensive. Intel also talked about the connector problem and here are a few lines about that.
High-end fiber connections are made by fusing the optical lines, but Doherty believes a gel-like adhesive, perhaps protected by a sheath that snaps back when the connector is plugged in, could be used. "It may not be for things you take on and off a hundred times a day," he said, but such a connector could be used dozens or hundreds of times.
What I can understand that problem does not exist anymore Valdor connectors solved the problem get me right if I am wrong about it.
The competion in the connector market is not so high and the defense industry testing the Valdor connector and might soon use the valdor connector and perhaps make a bigger order that make significant revenue for Valdor.
I also understand that there is not so easy to take some market from already establishing corporation, but now is the time for a breaktrough for Valdor they got the quality products and survived since 1985 and I belive make a breaktrough 2011.
