Valdor is a high technology company specializing in the design and manufacture of fiber optic connectors, laser pigtails, splitters, and other optical and optoelectronic components.
In order to handle this multifiber parallel connectivity within the data center, newer fiber connector technology must be deployed, such as the 12-fiber connector MPO device. in conjunction with multifiber cables, plug-and-play connectorized cables with 12 fibers connectorized with the MPO fiber connectors provide one of the ways to handle these future high speeds. For 40-Gbit/sec Ethernet, one 12-fiber cable terminated in MPO connectors provides a port connection with four spare fibers. For 100 Gbits/sec, two similar cables or a 24-fiber cable terminated with two MPO connectors provides a port connection, also with four spares.
Valdors HEPTOPORT™ MULTI-CHANNEL CONNECTORS is a type of connectors that could be a best seller and Valdor is developing a complement to multi channel connectors. On a technical level, MPO connectors provide numerous advantages, but when it comes to inspection and cleaning, they present several challenges. MPO endfaces are aligned using precision guide pins; therefore, it is extremely important to proceed with caution when inspecting/cleaning the fibers close to the outer edges (i.e. fibers 1, 2 and 11, 12)─especially for male connectors including guide pins, as they are particularly difficult to wipe clean using traditional cleaning devices such as swabs.
Copper is expected to have shortaged in 2011 market and it's possible that the copper price will drive the fiber market faster then expected and Valdor is in good position to grab some market share.
