Dear VMS Followers,
This morning’s press release (below) represents two long years of patience and perseverance. We stopped drilling at the Reed Lake Discovery Zone in September, 2008. The markets were in free fall and even spectacular intercepts could not stop the downward trend in VMS share price against the brutal collapse of world markets. We decided to conserve our treasury and leave future drilling of the deposit to our expected joint venture partner, HudBay Minerals. Our JV agreement with HudBay was signed July 6, 2010.
HudBay is an experienced and successful miner in this belt. In our view they are our strongest possible partner for the Reed Lake deposit. And, they are motivated to get ore to their Flin Flon infrastructure, as soon as is possible.
The drills will be turning for at least 7,000 metres in this first program and we can expect a series of releases announcing results throughout the fall of this year. As John Roozendaal points out in this morning’s release, it will be very interesting to see what we discover as we drill deeper.
We will have more detail on the timing of the exploration activities on the four adjoining property packages, which we have optioned to HudBay, in the fall.
Finally, our geo team met in Snow Lake the past two days and we will be updating our other programs for you shortly.
It has been a long wait for all of us, but I fully expect VMS to now be back on people’s “watch lists” as Reed Lake drilling resumes.
Please stay in touch.
Best Regards,
Rick Mark
