Workers began a strike at Xstrata's Kidd Creek plant near Timmons.Negotiations broke down on Monday.The mine is the worlds deepest for copper and zinc.They are not sure how long the strike will last.The mine produced 163,130 tonnes of copper concentrate last year.Xstratais the 4th largest producer of the metal used in electronics to cookwear.
