There would not likely be any economic short position in this stock. The reported positions are either covered with warrants or employee options, or possibly window dressing to discourage the retail market from buying. Technical shorts (fund A short equals Fund B long) are not only easy to create, but for some reason they seem to mesmerize potential retail buyers.
