Message: From a poster on Yahoo/ hope unxl is in that mix somewhere

A hint of bullish news for UniPixel in the growing touch market.

I read a hint of bullish news for UNXL in the report from Photonics Industry & Technology Development Association, which reported that the global display module output value in 2014 reached US$82.59 billion, up about 5% from US$78.88 billion in 2013. This number is even better than what Jennifer Colegrove has forcasted -- the market for touchscreen modules is expected to double from $16 billion in 2012 to $31.9 billion in 2018. In comparison, her forcast seems conservative, yet Rogerxavier claims that she was grossly over enthusiastic for saying $32BN by 2018. That aside, what is impressive about this is that even in the face of average selling price drop last year, the growth in unit shipments more than makes up the loss in price. A few more things to notice:
1. ITO replacement film products will further their way into the market. (Note that ITO replacement is gaining traction in the touch market. That is good for UNXL because it makes ITO replacement film.)
2. Wearable shipments will take off in 2015 and smartphones as well as tablets will continue to remain at affordable prices. (That wearable is taking off is good for flexible touch sensor makers like UNXL. Tablet, a 1st UNXL product, seems to be doing fine in the market.)
3. Touch panel solutions such as on-cell and in-cell will become more prevalent in 5-inch and below size smartphones. (Note that on-cell and in-cell are focused on 5-inch and below size which does not compete with the larger screen that UNXL selected. That is good for UNXL.)
4. Other source stated that over 2 billion units of touch panels will be shipped globally in 2015. The more the merrier for UNXL in finding more customers.
5. I read that Microsoft had bought N-trig, an Israeli provider of digital pens and chips for touch screens. That is a bullish confirmation of the importance of growing touch market. So, Microsoft decided to step into this huge billion dollar growing touch market. UNXL was tested with N-trig controllers. Less
