What a great day. Wow. I am not enjoying this development
I have no idea what is happening. Obviously I am shocked. I have no idea how bad things will be but I assume this means no deliveries soon. Obviously, the manufacturing process has some problem. Not sure how bad this will be. Just talked with someone that knows the company very well. I am hearing that this is likely not a problem however he said he can't be sure there isn't more to the story but he believes this will ultimately be a good thing..
Heard the following and I believe these statements to be true.
The firing is likely investor pressure. Investors are fed up with Reed's lack of execution. I heard several months ago that the lack of institutional support is largely due to Reed. I would have liked to see no issues but this is likely a great thing if the company is going to succeed.
Unrelated is that someone will drop coverage in the morning. Just one more dagger. The coverage being dropped has nothing to do with this news and also isn't indicative of a problem.
The person I talked with verified something I heard already. That everything is ready but Reed failed to do a simple process. The inspection equipment is in place but the engineer to calibrate it wasn't scheduled to come to Lufkin and can't come in until Jan. They may not deliver for a couple months. It will be at least later in Jan and maybe Feb.
Now the good news. My source indicates that process likely works fine. Kodak and UNXL will be making product soon and everything will be fine. He indicated I should hold my shares. Everything could be much better when the new CEO is put in place. We have to wait another month or 2 but it sounds like everything will likely end well.
